BALTIMORE – The Loyola University Maryland men's tennis team earned a 3-2 victory over Georgetown on Saturday as play continued at the Loyola Invitational at the McClure Tennis Center.

The match opened with doubles competition, where Georgetown claimed a narrow victory at No. 1. Waleed Qadir and Jack Mountford edged Loyola's Petter Hagen and Ryan Gill, 7-6 (4). The Greyhounds answered at No. 2, as Blake Edwards and David Suarez defeated Dean Rostom and Jonah Hill, 7-5.

Singles play proved to be the difference for Loyola. Georgetown earned its point at the top position, where Hill posted a 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory over Hagen at No. 1.

The Greyhounds secured the team win with victories at the final two singles positions. At No. 2, Louis Moldenhaur rallied after dropping the opening set to defeat Mountford, 4-6, 6-3, (11-9). Eddie Roake followed with another three-set victory at No. 3, defeating Rostom, 6-4, 3-6, (10-8), to clinch the match for Loyola.
