WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Sophomore
Evan Brown took third place at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate to lead the Loyola University Maryland golf team to a runner-up finish at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Course Tuesday.

Despite starting the day with a triple bogey, Brown used three birdies and three bogeys to go even throughout the rest of the round and finish the day at 3-over 74, just two strokes out of first place. Campbell's Max Thoedorakis and Amarin (Ray) Kraivixien were co-champions at 1-under 212, while Brown took third with a 1-over 214.

Erick Alonso was also in the top-10 for the Greyhounds, carding a 1-over 72 today to move up 17 spots and finish tied for ninth at 7-over 220.

Preston Ball was third for Loyola, shooting an 82 today to finish tied for 11th at 8-over 221, while sophomore
Brandon Berry matched his second-round score of 72 to finish tied for 24th at 11-over 224.

Nick Mejia rounded out the Greyhounds competing, as he signed for an 82 to finish tied for 47th at 17-over 230.

As a team, the Greyhounds finished second after combining for a three-round team score of 21-over 873. No. 43 Campbell shot a 287 today to jump Loyola in the standings and win the title with an 11-over 863. Drake was third with a 29-over 881.

Loyola will return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7 when it heads to New Jersey for the Princeton Invitational.
