Evan Brown shot three-round 217s to tie for 13
th-place Tuesday as the Greyhounds wrapped up play at the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate in a tie for sixth-place.

Brown had the Greyhounds' best final-round score, capitalizing on solid play on the final six holes of the day.

He opened the day with six-straight pars before birdying the par-5 seventh; his score went back to even, however with a bogey on the eighth. The back-nine did not start well for Brown, however, as he bogeyed the first two holes of the stretch before posting a double bogey on the 12
th. He rallied by going birdie-par-birdie on the 13
th, 14
th and 15
th holes before eagling the 575-yard par-5 16
th hole to get back to even for the day.

Brown then birdied the par-3 17
th to get to 1-under for his round, 5-under over a five-hole stretch. Brown parred the final hole and finished at 1-under 71 today.

Alonso shot 75 in the final round to match Brown's 217 for the tournament.
Nick Mejia carded a final-round 78 to finish in a tie for 24
th at 220, while
Preston Ball was a shot back at 221 in a tie for 26
th after shooting 76 on Tuesday.
Brandon Berry rounded out the Greyhounds' scoring by shooting 78 Tuesday to finish tied for 56
th.

South Florida, which entered the tournament ranked 23
rd nationally, won the event with a three-round 840, 23 shots in front of second-place Florida Gulf Coast. Connecticut and Virginia Commonwealth tied for third at 865, and Boston College was fifth at 870. The Greyhounds matched Davidson's total at 875 to tie for sixth.

Loyola is back in action March 24-26 at the Golden Horseshoe Invitational in Williamsburg, Virginia.
