WASHINGTON, D.C. – Loyola University Maryland's
Kevin Lindley and
Chase Scanlan were added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List on Thursday, joining teammates
Pat Spencer and
Jacob Stover among the group vying for the honor as NCAA Lacrosse's top player this season.
Lindley leads all NCAA Division I players in goals scored this season, posting 47 through the Greyhounds first 11 games of the 2019 season for an average of 4.27 per game.
Scanlan is the top-scoring midfielder in Division I through April 10, tallying 34 goals or an average of 3.09 per game for a mark that is tied for 13
th overall.
Lindley scored 37 goals as a freshman last season and has already topped that number through 11 games, posting eight games with four or more goals in the process. His 47 thus far in 2019 are tied for fifth-most in school single-season history with Gary Hanley (1981) and Zach Herreweyers (2015).
Scanlan's 34 goals are third-most by a Loyola freshman, trailing only the 37 scored by Lindley last season and Spencer in 2016. He has at least two goals in 10 of the Greyhounds' games this season and has multiple points in all 11 outings.
The Greyhounds head to New England to start a three-game road swing on Saturday, April 13, when they face Boston University in a 12 p.m. game.
