Loyola kicks off its women's soccer schedule on August 22 with a home game against St. Francis (Pa.)
BALTIMORE – Joe Mallia's second tour as head women's soccer coach at Loyola University Maryland officially begins in August when the Greyhounds start their 2019 schedule with a slate of nine non-conference matches that will lead into Patriot League action.

Mallia was named to his current position in December and has been at the helm of the program since. He was originally the head coach at Loyola from 1988-2004, compiling an 87-45-8 overall record while winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) regular-season or tournament titles in six of his seven seasons.

His second go-round with the Greyhounds will start with scrimmages at Tennessee and Robert Morris in mid-August before Loyola kicks off its regular-season on Thursday, August 22 with a home match against St. Francis (Pa.).

The game against the Red Flash will be the first of two at Ridley Athletic Complex in a four-day span as Seton Hall comes to play the Greyhounds on Sunday, August 25.

A trip down Interstate 95 to face Virginia Commonwealth on Thursday, August 29 breaks up four matches in five at Ridley to start the season. The Greyhounds return home on Sunday, September 1, to face Quinnipiac before taking on Yale on Friday, September 6.

After playing the Bulldogs, the Greyhounds head to the Hudson Valley for a Sunday, September 8, match against former-MAAC rival Marist. They then come back to Ridley for a Friday, September 13, contest against VMI.

Loyola makes a trip to the City of Brotherly Love on Sunday, September 15, to play Penn in the final game before Patriot League action starts on the road at Lehigh on Saturday, September 21.

The Greyhounds close non-conference play across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on Tuesday, September 24, at Delaware State.

The remainder of Patriot League play commences with a home match on Saturday, September 28, before culminating Friday, November 1, at Navy.

Patriot League Championships action starts the following week with the top-six teams in the conference's regular-season standings reaching the tournament.
