Box Score CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia had 10 total blocks and held Loyola University Maryland to a .069 hitting percentage Saturday as the host school beat the Greyhounds, 25-17, 25-15, 25-20, in Loyola's final game of the Cavalier Classic.
Molly Jarvis hit a team-best .389 for the Greyhounds, logging eight kills with just one error in 18 attempts, and
Ann Ernst had 10 kills.
Katie Forsythe posted 17 digs defensively, and Ernst just missed a double-double with nine.
Forsythe was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 5.63 with 62 in 11 sets.
Loyola will be back in action next weekend when it travels to the Windy City for the Rambler Classic at Loyola University Chicago. The Greyhounds open the event with a 1 p.m. match on Friday, September 6, against the home school before playing that evening against Western Michigan University and the following day against Montana State University.
