TUCKAHOE, Va. – Loyola University Maryland golf shot 1-over 289 on Tuesday to finish a shot out of fifth place as a team, while
Evan Brown carded a 1-over 73 and tied for fifth individually, at the VCU Invitational.

Brown's 73 on Tuesday came after rounds of 69 and 66 Monday and put him at 8-under for the tournament. The Greyhounds finished the tournament 18-under par to take sixth place, 12 shots ahead of seventh-place Richmond.

Preston Ball had the Greyhounds' low round on Monday, carding his best round of the tournament with a 3-under 69 at The Country Club of Virginia's Tuckahoe Creek Course. Ball had two even-par round on Monday and finished at 3-under 213 for the tournament, tying for 19
th.

Brandon Barry posted his third round at or under par for the competition, coming in at 72 in the final 18 to tie for 15
th with a three-round total of 4-under 212.

Carlo Pizzano and
Nick Mejia each had 3-over 75s today; Pizzano wrapped-up his first collegiate tournament with an even-par 216, and Mejia was a shot back for the tournament as they were tied for 29
th and 32
nd, respectively.

Loyola's two individuals at the invitational,
Matt Malits and
Turner Foster, shot 76s on Tuesday. Malits matched Mejia's 1-over and tied for 32
nd, while Foster completed his first Loyola event at 2-over to tie for 39
th.

Old Dominion rallied from fifth place at the start of Monday's round to win the team event. The Monarchs shot 11-under on Monday to get past Virginia Tech, which finished one shot back overall at 27-under. James Madison was third at 24-under, while Maryland and Virginia Commonwealth were fourth and fifth, respectively, at 24- and 23-under.

Loyola is back in action next week when it heads to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to play at Wake Forest's OTC Collegiate Invitational at the Old Town Club on September 23 and 24.
