BALTIMORE – Accomplished junior golfer Jackson Roman has signed a National Letter of Intent and will compete for the Loyola University Maryland golf team beginning in the Fall of 2021, Head Coach

Roman, who is a senior at Hamden Hall Country Day School in Connecticut, posted three-straight wins this past summer on the junior circuits, and he is currently No. 51 in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) rankings.

The Kensington, Connecticut-native won the 51
st-annual Borck Junior Golf Tournament, a match-play event. That win came after he took top honors at both the AJGA Junior Golf Hub Championship in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and the U.S. Challenge Boys and Girls Championship in Rumford, Rhode Island.
He also tied for ninth out of 230 golfers at the National High School Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and he tied for 10
th at the AJGA's Billy Horschel.

Beginning in 2013, Roman played extensively on the Connecticut PGA (CTPGA) Junior Tour, posting wins at the nine-hole Jackman Memorial in 2014, the SANDRI Junior Invitational in 2017 and the Crestview Junior Open in 2018.

In 2019, he capped his CTPGA experience with a win at the Champions TOUR Classic, shooting 71-69 at Shennecossett Golf Course. That year, he also became the youngest Men's Club Champion at his home club, Shuttle Meadow Country Club.

On the high school level, he won the season-ending Kingswood-Oxford Invitational as a sophomore, capturing the New England private-school event by shooting a 66 for a new tournament record.

The son of Kate and Scott Roman, Jackson has a younger sister, Kenna. He has played seven years of basketball and also is a successful TIkToker. His account, @WorditsJackson, has more than 15,000 followers and is geared toward assisting others in learning to play golf.
