BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse welcomed its 12 newcomers to the program today as the Greyhounds started classes for the 2020-21 academic year.
Twelve freshmen, representing eight states and one Canadian province, have joined the program for the upcoming season:

Before Loyola: Graduated from Sacred Heart School in Atherton, California, where he earned five letters between football and lacrosse… Earned a spot on the 2018 and 2019 All-West Catholic Athletic League First Team in both 2018 and 2019… Was the 2020 team's defensive most valuable player and a team captain… Helped the team win the 2017 Peninsula Athletic League title and the 2018 West Catholic Athletic League crown.
Personal: Son of Christine O'Sullivan and Jim Bean… Earned honors for excellence in French as a junior… Father, Jim, was a lacrosse player at Drexel.

Before Loyola: Graduated from The Woodlands (Texas) High School where he earned varsity letters in football (two) and lacrosse (four)… Scored 118 career goals and had 49 assists in three seasons with his senior year being shortened due to COVID-19… Named a USLacrosse All-American and All-State honoree as a junior in 2019… Tabbed an Adrenaline All-American and the Team Offensive Most Valuable Player in 2020… All-District performer as a freshman in 2017… Led The Woodlands to the 2018 state title and THSLL South District Championships from 2017-2019… Was a starting safety on the school's Class 6A football team, earning All-District honorable mention… Was an Academic All-District honoree and Academic All-State Second Team member on the gridiron… Played club lacrosse for Iron Horse and Dallas Select.

Before Loyola: Graduated from Brewster Academy where he attended for two years after going to Westminster School and Canton High School… Was a seven-time letterwinner In lacrosse and ice hockey… In 2019, scored 14 goals and assisted on 35 for Brewster after posting seven goals and eight assists in 2018 for Westminster… Had seven goals and eight assists in the year prior at Westminster, as well… As a freshman in 2016 at Canton, scored 20 goals and had 25 assists… Helped Brewster to the Lakes Region Championship in 2019… Earned Lakes Region All-Conference honors in ice hockey in 2020 and was a team captain for the program… Played club for the Connecticut Wolves.

Before Loyola: Graduated from St. Paul's School for Boys where he played as a junior and senior… Competed at Gerstell Academy as a freshman and sophomore… As a junior in 2019, set a St. Paul's record with 53 points, totaling 38 goals to go with 15 assists and 43 ground balls… Had 94 points on 40 goals and 54 assists with 120 ground balls in his sophomore season of 2018 at Gerstell… Compiled 56 points with 21 goals, 35 assists and 92 ground balls as a freshman… Earned All-MIAA B Conference honors in 2017 and 2018… Received the Andrew Keltz Cup in 2019 as St. Paul's top midfielder… Earend the Louis D. Before Loyola: Graduated from Christ School in Arden, North Carolina, where he earned seven varsity letters between lacrosse, football and soccer… Left Christ as the school's all-time leader in points scored (337)… Opened his career with 35 goals and 40 assists as a freshman and then tallied 54 and 58 during his sophomore campaign in 2018… Had 68 goals and 56 assists in 2019 as a junior and then in only four games during the shortened 2020 season, he had 20 goals and six assists… Led Christ to the NCISAA State titles as a freshman, sophomore and junior… Received the school's Pat James Award as the Top Underclass Athlete… Lacrosse team captain in 2020 and soccer team captain in 2019… Earned All-Conference recognition in soccer in 2018 and 2019… Played club for Team Carolina.

Before Loyola: Graduated from West Genesee High School in Camillus, New York, where he was a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse… Starting goalkeeper who made more than 250 saves and had a .610 saves percentage in 2019 as a junior… Stopped 205 shots and had a .640 saves percentage in 2018 and had a .570 mark in 2017… Earned All-League First Team honors three times and was All-Central New York twice… Was the youngest starting goalkeeper in West Genesee's storied history… Finished second all-time at the school in saves and would likely have set the mark, missing it by 45, if not for the cancellation of the 2020 season… Named All-State Second Team in 2019… Led West Genesee to three section championship appearances, a pair of league titles and a state final game… Won more than 50 career games… Was a three-time box lacrosse league champion and three-time Most Valuable Player… Played club for Sweetlax's Upstate and National teams… Two-time Sweetlax Invitational All-Star and was on the Sweetlax National Team that was ranked in the top-5 nationally in the 2020 age group.
