AUSTIN, Texas – CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) released its 2021 Academic All-America honorees for women's soccer on Thursday, with Loyola University Maryland junior goalkeeper Paige Sim earning a spot on the second team.

Sim becomes the third Greyhound in program history to achieve Academic All-America status, joining Nichole Schiro (first team in 2012) and Theresa Ferraina (first team in 2008, 2009). She holds a 3.94 cumulative grade-point average as a biochemistry major and business administration minor.

The Academic All-America teams honor the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Sim is one of 34 women's soccer players across all of Division I to be recognized nationally; she was selected from a pool of 105 Academic All-District recipients. The 34 Academic All-Americans for the 2021 season averaged a cumulative GPA of 3.94.

An All-Patriot League performer in each of her first three collegiate seasons, Sim was named the conference's Goalkeeper of the Year this fall after leading the Patriot League in both goals-against average (0.96) and save percentage (.809). She went 8-6-4 (5-1-3 PL) with seven shutouts on the year, holding Patriot League opponents to one goal or fewer in eight of her 10 starts.

Sim was also chosen as a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-North Region honoree after the season. She is a seven-time Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week and a two-time Academic All-Patriot League selection. Through 38 collegiate appearances, Sim is 17-10-10 with a 0.73 GAA, a .835 save percentage and 15 shutouts.

Sim was one of two Patriot League standouts to be recognized as CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, with Navy's Chloe Dawson also named to the second team. She is the 17th student-athlete in Loyola's history to receive the national honor.
