LEXINGTON, Ky. – Two years ago,
Katie Forsythe became the first player in Loyola University Maryland history to earn all-region honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Today, she became the first from the program to receive the honor twice.
Forsythe, the four-time Patriot League Libero of the Year, was named AVCA All-East Region Honorable Mention on Tuesday.
Last month, Forsythe also was named to the All-Patriot League Team for the fourth time, and she was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team for the second-straight season.
This season, she became the Loyola and Patriot League career leader in digs, setting the mark in late October and finishing the season with 2,201 in her career, which she will continue next season as a graduate student at Loyola.
Through matches of December 6, Forsythe is third nationally in digs per set this season with 5.70, and she led the Patriot League in that statistical category for the fourth year in a row.
Over the course of her career, Forsythe has averaged 5.93 digs per set, a mark that ranks fourth all-time in NCAA Division I history.
