Aldama Garners Third-Straight Player Of The Week Nod

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland's Santi Aldama was named the Patriot League Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday, the third-consecutive week he has earned the honor.
 
In a pair of games against Lehigh, which the Greyhounds split, Aldama averaged double-double 25.5 points and 12.5 rebounds. He added 2.5 blocked shots and 1.5 steals in the two contests, as well.
 
Aldama played only 23 minutes in Saturday's win, but he scored 27 points and had seven boards. Sunday night, he went for 24 points and 18 rebounds against the Mountain Hawks. His 18 rebounds are tied for sixth-most in school single-game history.
 
His double-double on Sunday was his sixth in eight games and ninth of his 21-game collegiate career.
 
This season, in 11 games, Aldama is averaging 21.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 blocked shots per game. He leads the Patriot League in rebounds per game and is second in both points and blocks.
 
Per sportsreference.com, Aldama is the only NCAA Division I player this season to average at least 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game. He is one of only three to average 20 or more points and 10-plus rebounds per game.
