BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland senior
Evan Brown was named the Patriot League Men's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, marking the third time this season he has received the award from the conference office.
Earlier this week, Brown tied for third at West Virginia University's Mountaineer Invitational, playing the 7,308-yard, par-72 Pete Dye Golf Club course to a 3-over total for the three rounds.
The senior shot 1-over 73 in all three rounds, bettering the tournament average by more than five strokes to help Loyola to a fourth-place finish against a field that included the host Mountaineers and ranked teams from Georgia Southern and Southern Mississippi.
Brown posted 34 pars during the tournament to go with only 10 over-par holes.
He has earned Patriot League Golfer of the Week honors after three of the four tournaments Loyola has played in this year, and his 10 career honors are more than any other golfer in conference history.
