Tennis Teams Split Matches On Sunday Afternoon

BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland's women's tennis team posted a 6-1 win on Sunday afternoon against Harford Community College, but the Owls' men's team defeated the Greyhounds, 7-0.
 
Abby Decker and Sandra Aguirre won the women's doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 1 over Chloe Certain and Alize Ripolles, securing the point after Olivia Tracey and Anna Rico won by default at No. 3.
 
Harford's Lianna Tillinghast and Natalia Calvo-Herrera scored a No. 2 doubles victory, 6-1, against Loyola's Madison Metzdorf and Lauren Williamson.
 
Kateri Martin kicked off the singles flights with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Certain at No 1. While Taylor Kuncl used matching 6-4 sets to pick up a point at No. 3 with a win against Calvo-Herrera. Brooke Santoriello beat Tillinghast, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4, and Genevieve Wurtz topped Paula Martinez, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5.
 
Julia Thompson won by default at No. 6 for the Greyhounds. The Owls picked up their point with a 7-5, 6-4 win by Ripolles against Abigail Thornton at No. 2.
 
On the men's side, Harford's Harry Collins and Adrien Guibert beat Matt Cardano and Oliver Davey, 6-0, at No. 1 doubles, while Pablo Lopez Real and Pablo Poleo were 6-3 victors at No. 2 against Nick Haggar and Tyler Mast. Josep Coll Llopis and Mathius Dessureau completed the doubles point with a 6-4 win over Edik Pribitkin and Joe Ocker at NO. 3.
 
Guibert notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles against Skyler Gates, and Collins got by Benny Glezer by the same scores at No. 2.
 
Lopez Real defeated Charlie Shanker, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3, and Coll Llopis beat Colin Corsini, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4.
 
Poleo downed Peter Kelley, 6-1, 1-6, (10-5) at No. 5, and Dessureau was a 6-4, 7-6 (4) winner aginst Cooper Tomchik at No. 6.
