TOWSON, Md. – Loyola University Maryland track and field opened its weekend of competition Friday, running at the first day of the Towson Invitational.
Rachel Koller clocked a wind-aided time of 12.52 seconds and was the Greyhounds' top finisher in the preliminaries of the 100 meters on Friday, taking 13
th overall, while
Ava Dunn (12.98) and
Rhoda Miller (13.01) were 21
st and 23
rd.
Abigail Potticary,
Grayce Heinemann and
Kate Ragone all had top-20 finishes in the 1,500 meters, running 12
th (4:52.79), 14
th (4:54.85) and 17
th (4:56.02), respectively.
Eve Schoenberg (71.20) and
Megan McCusker (72.20) were 11
th and 12
th in the 400-meter hurdles.
Samantha Spargo made her collegiate debut in the 3,000-meter steeplechase taking fourth in the race in 12:53.21.
A contingent of Loyola men's cross country runners competed in the 1,500 meters with Nathan Galloway leading the way in 4:10.28. Ethan Ginyard took 14
th (4:18.95), followed closely by Jake Fowler in 15
th (4:21.53) and Tyler Vega in 17
th (4:22.66).
The meet continues on Saturday at Unitas Stadium.
