Ohlsson Earns Fourth Career Academic All-Patriot League Award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the fourth time in her Loyola University Maryland career, senior Senna Ohlsson was named to an Academic All-Patriot League Team for her excellent work in the classroom and championships on the track.

This month, Ohlsson won the 800 meters at the 2021 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The victory adds to her trophy wall that includes the 800 titles from the 2019 and 2020 Patriot League Indoor Championships and the 2019 Outdoor Championship.

Last summer, she ran in the Swedish National Championships – Ohlsson holds dual citizenship in both the United States and Sweden – and set a school record with a time of 2:06.05. She just missed that standard in the Patriot League Championships, running a conference meet record of 2:06.88.

Ohlsson has earned seven Dean's List honors since her time at Loyola, and she will graduate this month with a Bachelor's degree in biology and English. She had a 3.833 grade-point average heading into the spring semester.

She is a past recipient of Loyola's Cura Personalis Award as a student who embodies Ignatian idea of care for the whole person through academic achievement, service and leadership.

Ohlsson, who will attend Yale University's graduate school next year, has worked with the Citizen's Climate Lobby and the Sunrise Movement Strike Circle and also has interned for the Environmental Protection Agency and Solve Climate By 2020.
