BALTIMORE – A pair of Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse defenders were named All-American by
Inside Lacrosse and its media voters. The team was announced on ESPNU at halftime of the Greyhounds' NCAA Championships First Round game at Denver.
Ryan McNulty earned Second Team recognition for the second year in a row as a long-stick midfielder, and
Cam Wyers received honorable mention as a close defender. Both players were named to the All-Patriot League First Team last week.
McNulty repeated as an All-American member after earning the honor in 2020. This season, he has continued his play as one of the top poles nationally, contributing in all three phases of the game for the Greyhounds.
He entered the NCAA Championships with 42 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers while also putting up 10 points as a defensive player with four goals and six assists.
Wyers, meanwhile earned All-America honors for the first time and All-Patriot League recognition for the second time after being tabbed a second-team honoree following his freshman season of 2019.
This year, he has been one of the best close defenders nationwide, helping Loyola to a top-10 defensive rating. He is tied for the second on the team in caused turnovers with 18 and is second with 50 ground balls. Wyers has also helped Loyola rank third nationally in clearing, as he has six points in transition with a goal and five assists.
