BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland senior Kateri Martin was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team for women's tennis, marking the second time in her career she has earned the honor.
 
Martin, who also received the recognition after her sophomore season in 2019, went 10-5 in No. 1 singles and 8-7 at No. 1 doubles during the 2021 season.
 
She became the first Loyola tennis player to earn All-Patriot League honors three times in a career, picking up first-team honors in 2018 and 2019, second-team after this season.
 
Martin caps her career with the second-most No. 1 singles wins in school history (73), a total which is fifth all-time at Loyola. She holds the school record for singles win in a season (25) and Patriot League matches won (8. Martin is third all-time at Loyola in doubles wins at No. 1 (57), as well as being seventh all-time in combined singles and doubles wins in a career (130).
 
Academically, Martin has been a standout, as well, earning Patriot League Academic Honor Roll three times while being a member of the Loyola Dean's List throughout her career. She entered her final semester at the school with a 3.774 grade-point average as a dual major in finance and information systems.
 
Martin has been a member of Loyola's Green & Grey Society, a group of 14 students who are liaisons to the school president and administration. In 2020-2021, she served as vice president of Loyola's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and she is a member of multiple honor societies.
 
Martin is Loyola's second women's tennis player to earn multiple Academic All-Patriot League honors, joining Haileigh Morgus who received the recognition three times from 2014-16. Overall, Loyola has had seven honorees since joining the conference for the 2013-14 season.
