STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland women's track and field got back to intercollegiate action for the first time in 2022, competing at Penn State University's Nittany Lion Challenge on Saturday.
Grayce Heinemann had the Greyhounds' top finish of the day, taking 12
th in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:05.54. She just edged her teammate,
Kate Ragone, who was 13
th, only 18-hundredths of a second behind Heinemann.
Olivia Malley matched Ragone's 13th-place finish with one of her own in the 400 meters, finishing in 60.62.
Jessica Boos was 20
th in the event in 63.94.
Rhoda Miller clocked 8.10 seconds during her season debut in the 60 meters and was 21
st, an event in which Boos was 26
th in 8.35.
Allegra Devoe ran 1:52.05 in the 600 meters to finish 21
st, 28-hundredths of a second ahead of
Eve Schoenberg who was 22
nd.
Megan McCusker and
Ainsley Jodlbauer were 24
th and 25
th, respectively, in the 200 meters, running 28.20 and 28.35.
Maeve Lowther and
Sammie Spargo were the Greyhounds' top finishers in the mile run. Lowther was 27
th in 5:40.55, and Spargo finished 31
st in 5:47.14.
Boos, Malley,
Carly Spinnler and Jodlbauer ran in the 4x400-meter relay for the Greyhounds, taking 15
th in 4:16.13.
The Greyhounds will continue their season next weekend at Bucknell University's Gulden Invitational on Saturday, January 22.
