BALTIMORE – Area standout Dustin Stocksdale has signed a National Letter of Intent and will continue his golf career at Loyola University Maryland next year, Head Coach
Chris Baloga announced today.
"Dustin is a great player who always competes and seemed to be in the mix to win every tournament he entered in the last year," Baloga said. "He is an exceptional student and hard worker that will be a perfect fit for our program."
Stocksdale has won the 2022 Howard County Championship, shooting 4-under 66 for Centennial High School where he is slated to graduate from next spring. Last month, he took third in the Maryland State 3A/4A Individual Championship.
He has excelled on the junior golf circuit, too, and competed for Team Maryland at the 2022 Mid-Atlantic Junior Amateur and the 2020 MAPGA Capital Cup.
Stocksdale, who is the son of Brandi and Dustin Sr. Stocksdale, took third in a pair of 2022 AJGA tournaments, the UHY Baltimore Junior and the KJ Choi Foundation Junior.
He won the Wells Fargo Championship Spring Fling in the April 2022, and during the summer of 2020, he was the winner of the Northern Maryland Open and the Jimmy Flattery Invitational before he finished second at the MAPGA Junior Tour Championship.
