ANNAPOLIS, Md. –
Abby Potticary and
Olivia Malley ran two of the top times in school history on Friday afternoon, leading the Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team at the Navy Select in its final pre-championships tune-up of the indoor season.
Malley finished second in the 500 meters, while Potticary was fourth in the mile; both rank them as the third-fastest runners in their respective events in school history.
Potticary turned in a time of 4:58.34 to become the third Loyola woman to run sub-five minutes in the event.
Kate Ragone was sixth in the race in 5:10.47.
Malley turned in a time of 1:15.82 to edge William and Mary's Makenzie Joiner by less than a half-second.
Ajia Morrison ran 1:19.23 to finish fourth in the race.
Carley Spinnler brought back a third-place finish in the 800 meters, running 2:18.53, while
Grayce Heinemann was eight in the event in 2:20.03.
Rhoda Miller was seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 26.99;
Eve Schoenberg was eight in the 400 meters in 61.40, while
Jessica Boos was ninth (62.54) and
Ainsley Jodlbauer 10
th (62.71).
Sammie Spargo led four Greyhounds in the 1,000 meters, taking third in 3:14.44. She was followed by
Marissa Branham (4
th, 3:17.81),
Kasey Boag (5
th, 3:19.35) and
Bridget Hackett (6
th, 3:32.20).
Taylor McHugh finished 10
th in the 60 meters, running 8.542, followed closely by
Ava Dunn in 11
th at 8.545.
Amya Tuckey took 12
th in 8.73.
Megan McCusker was 10
th in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.78.
Malley, Morrison, Spinnler and Heinemann were second in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:01.34, while Schoenberg, McCusker, Miller and Dunn took fourth (4:11.49). Ragone, Potticary, Spargo and Branham ran 10:12.53 to place third in the 4x800-meter relay.
Multiple men's cross country runners competed at the meet, too.
Evan Skuart finished 13
th in the men's mile, running 4:24.41, while Nathan Galloway and Evan Alander were 14
th and 15
th, respectively, in 4:24.87 and 4:25.60.
Dillon Harding finished fifth in 8:47.08 in the 3,000 meters, while Camden Spring took seventh (8:56.67) and Tyler Vega ninth (9:13.06).
The Greyhounds will next be in action in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, where they will compete in the Patriot League Championships February 26-27.
