SKOKIE, Ill. —
Carlo Pizzano had five-straight birdies during the third round of the Windon Memorial on Tuesday to help him post a team-best 1-under 69 as Loyola University Maryland closes play at its second event of the season.
The Greyhounds took 12
th in the event hosted by Northwestern University at the 6,885-yard, par-70 Evanston Country Club.
Pizzano opened his round with two para wrapped around a bogey before carding five birdies in a row to get to 4-under through eight holes. He had another birdie on his 15
th hole of the day and checked in with a 69 in the third round.
He led the Greyhounds at 4-over in the tournament, tying for 24
th place.
Trent Geritz and
James Rico both had rounds of 3-over 73 on Tuesday. Rico finished his first collegiate tournament tied 46
th at 9-over, and Geritz made his season debut with a tie for 65
th at 13-over.
Mike Crowley tied for 69
th, and
Connor McGarrity was 79
th for the Greyhounds.
Loyola will be back on the course October 3-4 when it hosts the Hamptons Intercollegiate at the Maidstone Club in East Hampton, New York.
