New York -- Army West Point scored two goals in the second half on Friday evening to get past visiting Loyola University Maryland in a Patriot League women's soccer match.
The Greyhounds (9-3 overall, 4-1 Patriot League) offense was stifled by the Black Knights (5-6-3 overall, 2-2-1 Patriot League) in the first half, only tallying one shot in the half, their lowest in a game this season.
Paige Sim saved both shots on goal in the first half, as teams were tied at halftime 0-0.
The Black Knights Brigid Duffy scored their first goal of the game in the 48th minute, as a clear attempt found Duffy, who scored in the top left corner. The Black Knights added their second goal in the 67th minute, as Kaitlin Palaian scored her fourth of the season.
Baylee DeSmit had the Greyhounds best look of the night in the 79th minute, as she made to split two defenders for the shot, but was saved by Sage Strohman for the Black Knights.
Overall, the Greyhounds were out shot 14-5 on the night, as they lost their first Patriot League game of the season.
The Greyhounds will be back home on Wednesday, as they will host the Bucknell Bison at 7:00 PM.
