Volleyball Sets 2023 Schedule With Matches Starting August 25

BALTIMORE ­– The Loyola University Maryland volleyball team will start its 2023 schedule on August 25, opening a slate that will see the Greyhounds play nine times in Reitz Arena.
 
Loyola will head north on Interstate 95 to the Blue Hen Invitational in Wilmington, Delaware, for the season's first weekend. The Greyhounds will face host Delaware on August 25 and then take on Niagara and Robert Morris the following day.
 
The Greyhounds go to the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina for its next three matches, a trip that will see them face two Atlantic Coast Conference teams and a Big 12 Conference foe.
 
Duke welcomes Loyola on August 31, and Loyola will take on West Virginia in a neutral-site game the next day at North Carolina. The Tar Heels then host Loyola on September 2 to finish the trip.
 
Loyola will open its home schedule on September 5 against Coppin State, the Greyhounds' lone home non-conference game of the year.
 
Out of league play ends the next weekend for Loyola when it visits Queens, New York for the Jack Kaiser Volleyball Classic at St. John's. The Greyhounds will play Stony Brook and Siena in neutral site matches on September 8 before playing the host Red Storm the next day.
 
Loyola's 11th season in the Patriot League starts the following weekend when Loyola hosts Navy on September 15.
 
The Greyhounds then make their annual trip to Army West Point (September 22) and Colgate (September 23) before returning to Reitz Arena for their next three matches.
 
Loyola will host Lehigh on September 29 and Bucknell the next day, and then American visits the Evergreen campus on October 3.
 
The Greyhounds head to Lafayette on September 6 and return to Baltimore for an October 8 contest against Holy Cross.
 
Loyola starts the second half of its Patriot League schedule on October 14 when it hosts Lafayette, and the season continues October 18 and 20 with games at Navy and American.
 
The Greyhounds visit Bucknell and Lehigh on October 27 and 28, respectively, before coming back to Baltimore for its next two games. Loyola will host Army West Point and Colgate on November 3 and 4 to finish its home regular-season slate.
 
Loyola closes the regular season on November 11 with a match at Holy Cross.
 
The top six teams in the Patriot League standings will make the conference championships, a tournament that starts November 14 with a quarterfinal round that features the lowest four seeds.
 
Winners advance to the site of the regular-season champion where the semifinals (November 17) and championship match (November 19) will be held.
