Loyola University Maryland's volleyball and swimming and diving teams are paying tribute to a pair of teammates who passed away recently with activities in their honor.

Former volleyball player Corinne Filograna and swimmer Faith Tyranski, both members of Loyola's Class of 2022, battled forms of cancer before their recent passing.

This weekend, members of the swimming and diving team will participate in the
Baltimore Open Water Swim as a part of Swim Across America. Sunday's event will be a one-mile open-water swim at High Tide Farm in Pasadena, Maryland.

Swim Across America is a yearly event nationwide that raises money for innovative cancer research that lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies.

The Greyhounds are
swimming in memory of Tyranski and Filograna at this year's event.

Filograna's family and members of the volleyball program have raised money for, and will participate in, The Parkway Run & Walk, benefitting Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where Filograna received much of her treatment.

The Parkway Run & Walk is a 5,000-meter run and 2,000-meter walk on Sunday, September 24, on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in the City of Brotherly Love.

Team Corinne is closing in on its goal of $20,000 raised to benefit breakthrough pediatric cancer research at CHOP.
