BOSTON –
Jamie Adams and
Lauryn Clarke will race in individual finals on Sunday afternoon after the pair of Loyola University Maryland sophomores qualified in opening rounds at the 2024 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Clarke will compete in the 60- and 200-meter finals, and Adams will run in the 200.
Clarke tied her mark for the third fastest 60-meter time in school history on Saturday, running 7.64 seconds in her heat to qualify fifth for the final that will be held Sunday.
Adams also tied her own mark as the second-fastest 200-meter time in school history, winning her heat in 24.63 seconds; she will head into Sunday's final with the No. 3 seed. Clarke will also compete in the 200 meters after winning her heat in 24.87 seconds to draw the No. 6 seed.
The 4x800-meter relay team of
Kat Zysk,
Meghan Leonard,
Kiera Udell and
Isabella Coleman took ninth with a time of 9:19.09.
Norah Affanato ran in the qualifying for the mile and took 18
th overall with a time of 5:14.62. Leanely Cruz was 15
th in 60-meter hurdles qualifying in 9.44 seconds.
Madelyn Ricard was 18
th in 60-meter qualifying in 7.98 seconds, and
Jane Mazzeo was 23
rd in 8.10. Mazzeo (26.68),
Julia Baguiao (26.88) and Ricard (27.05) finished 25
th, 26
th and 27
th in 200-meter qualifying.
Competition will continue Sunday at Boston University.
