Bethlehem -- The Patriot League announced their weekly award winners on Monday afternoon, as Loyola University Maryland's
Baylee DeSmit was named the Offensive Player of the Week.
DeSmit, the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, earns her first weekly award of the season.
DeSmit led the Greyhounds on Sunday afternoon to a 3-1 win over Northern Colorado, as DeSmit had a pair of goals in the win. She scored the go-ahead and game-winning goal early in the second half, as a long pass from Gallagher led DeSmit in behind the defense before she curled inside the post for the goal. She followed it up with her second goal later in the second half, as a link up play from
Malia Tarazon and
Asma Merzougui led to DeSmit's left footed shot from outside the box for the goal.
She now leads the Patriot League with four goals so far this season.
The Greyhounds are back in action next Sunday as they will host Hofstra at 2:00 PM.
