CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Loyola University Maryland's men's and women's cross country teams took to the trails at the Panorama Farms Invitational on Friday, October 17, facing off against a competitive field in the men's 8K and women's 6K races.
Loyola's men's cross country team competed in a deep field at the Panorama Farms Invitational, finishing 14th overall. The Greyhounds were led by Michael Byrnes, who placed 84th with a time of 25:44.0.
Dennis McNamara followed in 103rd place, crossing the line in 26:20.5.
Andrew Robinson finished 126th in 26:58.3, while Will Palopoli took 134th with a time of 27:10.6.
Christian Zawislack rounded out the scoring five in 139th place, clocking 27:24.3.
Also representing Loyola were
Nate Tibbetts, who placed 141st in 27:26.9, William Malone in 144th at 27:33.3, Matthew Bradley in 146th with a time of 27:49.6,
Ailin Oberlies in 147th at 27:53.2,
Logan Eagles in 148th at 27:54.7, and
Drew Peters, who finished 154th in 28:20.4. Callaway Lipkin completed the race in 161st place with a time of 29:15.8.
The men's team posted a cumulative time of 2:13:37.70, averaging 26:43.54 per runner.
The Loyola women's team placed 16th overall in the Panorama Farms Invitational, with
Kayla Hayes leading the way in 90th place, finishing in 22:51.0.
Norah Affanato followed in 118th with a time of 23:38.4, while Abigail Arseneau placed 125th in 23:56.6.
Meghan Leonard crossed the line in 133rd at 24:22.4, and
Kiera Udell rounded out the scoring five in 137th place with a time of 24:26.9.
Additional Greyhound finishers included
Selah Decatur, who placed 139th in 24:34.1,
Mackenzie Newman in 142nd at 24:53.5, Katrina Zysk in 145th with a time of 25:01.4, and
Sarah Teed, who finished 151st in 26:40.1.
Alaina Bromley placed 153rd in 27:41.8, and
Stella Mische completed the race in 154th with a time of 27:53.5.
Loyola will compete again on Halloween, running at the Patriot League Championships, starting at 12 noon on October 31 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
