Roman Uses Streak Of Pars For Top 25 Finish At Lewis Chitengwa Memorial

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Jackson Roman rolled in 14-straight pars to close Tuesday's windy final round at Virginia's Lewis Chitengwa Memorial, to move up 16 spots on Tuesday and finish tied for 25th at the three-round tournament.

Roman opened his final round going par-bogey-birdie-par after teeing off on the 10th hole, and he held that 1-over number for the rest of the day by carding 14 pars in a row to finish.

During the round, only six golfers shot even-par or better, and Roman was one of 10 at 1-over or lower.

His round helped the Greyhounds finish 11th in a field that included three teams ranked in NCAA Division I's top 30 and eight players in the nation's top 130 including the World Amateur Golf Rankings' No. 1 and 3 players.

Florida State won the event, followed by Virginia, and the Seminoles' Luke Clanton, who is ranked No. 1 in the WAGR, took the individual title despite shooting 5-over on Tuesday.

Mike Crowley tied for 45th for the Greyhounds, while Lorenzo Sanz and Gustavo Rangel tied for 56th and Dustin Stocksdale tied for 66th.

Sanz moved up 10 spots on Tuesday to register his best finish of the season in the regular season finale for the Greyhounds.

Loyola will next compete in the 2025 Patriot League Championships April 25-27 in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
