CHESTER, Pa. –
Nelly Cruz and
Lauryn Clarke each ran times that rank in the top-10 fastest in Loyola University Maryland history in a pair of events on Monday as the Greyhounds competed at the Widener Final Qualifier.
Cruz posted times that rank seventh and tenth all-time in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking efforts of 15.11 seconds in the preliminaries and then 15.01 seconds to finish fourth in the final of the event.
Clarke ran the second fastest time in the 100-meter heats with the fifth-fastest time in school history, 11.85 seconds.
Jane Mazzeo turned in a time of 12.47 seconds in the 100 prelims and then was fifth in the final in 12.69 seconds.
A trio of Greyhounds ran in the 800 meters with
Kiera Udell (2:16.12),
Claire Dalsass (2:16.17) and
Meghan Leonard (2:17.82) taking 20
th, 21
st and 25
th, respectively.
Mazzeo also had a 12
th-place finish in the 200 meters, running 25.97 seconds, while Cruz was 19
th in 26.30 and
Lauren Gerow took 28
th in 28.93.
Maddie Van Haren ran a personal-best time of 59.55 seconds and was ninth in the 400 meters, and Gerow took 17
th in 63.38.
