School Record Set At New Balance Invitational

New York - The Loyola University Maryland track and field team competed Friday and Saturday at the New Balance Invitational at The Armory Track and Field Center in New York. The Greyhounds set a new school record in the distance medley with a time of 12:17.03.

The team of Emily Doucette, Kristina Krupa, Jackie D'Antonio and Alyssa Doyle finished 11th with that time on Friday night. The distant medley broke the time of 12:20.99 set by Wilson, Diamond, Scott and Rovegno at the Bison Open in 2008.

In the 3,000 meters, Stephanie Gibney finished 13th with a time of 10:29.02 and Victoria Szczawinski was 20th with a time of 10:40.95.

In the mile ran Saturday, Marissa Galante ran a season-best time of 5:13.63 to finish 34th. Doucette finished 40th with a time of 5:17.65 and Kiera Harrison was 43rd with a time of 5:20.42.

The Greyhounds will be back in action Saturday, February 12, at the UMES College Invitational in Princess Anne, Md.
