That wouldn't be enough for the Greyhounds to take the lead as the Blue Hose increased the deficit to gain a seven-point advantage, 21-14. Loyola was unable to catch Presbyterian, and the teams traded points leading to a 25-18 Blue Hose win. Loyola scored six-straight to pull ahead 6-1 in the early going of the second set, but Presbyterian was able to even the score at 8-8 before a kill by Kazalas gave the Greyhounds a lead they would not relinquish as they took the second set 25-17.

A six-point run by the Greyhounds, including four-straight kills, propelled the team to an 8-4 lead in the third set. The Blue Hose closed the gap to 12-12, but Loyola regained the lead and held on. Loyola had, at most, a four-point advantage, and took this lead six times after the tie at 12-12.

Four-straight kills by Loyola brought the Greyhounds to a 7-4 lead in the fourth set, and they maintained the advantage until the Blue Hose tied the game at 16-16.

Presbyterian wasn't able to pull ahead and fell behind Loyola for the rest of the set. An attack error by the Blue Hose gave Loyola its largest lead of four to solidify the 25-21 victory.
