Quick Hits About The 'Hounds
- The Loyola University Maryland women's soccer team's season-opening road trip continues on Thursday, August 23, when it heads to South Orange, New Jersey, for a 6:30 p.m. game at Seton Hall University.
- The Greyhounds then open the home slate of their schedule Sunday, August 26, at 4 p.m. against Saint Francis University (Pennsylvania) at Ridley Athletic Complex.

- Loyola opened up the 2018 season last weekend with a pair of games in Riverside, California.
- The Greyhounds started the year on Friday at California Baptist University and played a very even game with the Lancers. California Baptist, however, broke through in the 86th minute to score the lone goal of the game.
- Loyola came back for its second game of the year on Sunday afternoon, taking on the University of California, Riverside.
- The Highlanders scored early in both the first and second halves to secure a 2-0 decision.
- Sumer Rahe made eight saves between the two games, stopping five against California Baptist.
Series History
- Loyola will play Seton Hall for the second time in series history and the second time in as many years.
- Last year, Loyola posted a 1-0 overtime win against the Pirates. Mary Theresa Corcoran drove in a header off a Julianna Cabrera corner kick 3:54 into overtime to provide the game's only goal.
- The Greyhounds have played Saint Francis (Pa.) each of the last three years and four times in all. Loyola played the Red Flash in 1992, the Greyhounds' inagural season of women's soccer, and posted a 5-1 win.
- Loyola then played at St. Francis (Pa.) in 2015, bringing home a 2-1 win. A year later, Loyola scored a 1-0 victory over the Red Flash at Ridley Athletic Complex.
- The Greyhounds took on St. Francis (Pa.) on September 3, 2017, in Loretto, Pennsylvania, a game the Red Flash won, 3-0.

About The Pirates & Red Flash
- Seton Hall comes into Thursday's game with a 0-1-1 record after the first weekend of the season. The Pirates lost, 1-0, to Siena College on Friday, August 17, before deadlocking, 0-0, with the University of Delaware on Sunday, August 19.
Having A Foot In (Almost) Everything
- Julianna Cabrera was involved in all but two of Loyola's goals last season, assisting on four via the assist end and scoring at both St. John's and Delaware State.
- Cabrera, who was the Greyhounds' primary player on set pieces, entered the season with just one assist – coming in her freshman season of 2015 – but she quadrupled that with four in 2017. Her four assists in 2017 tied her for seventh in the Patriot League, and he 0.24 assists per game were also tied for seventh.
Nine Newcomers On The Pitch
- Nine players joined the Greyhounds' roster for the first time this fall. Eight freshmen and a transfer joined the Loyola roster for the 2018 season.
- Former Northern High School (Owings, Maryland) standout Julia Gray came to Loyola and participated with the Greyhounds during the spring season after spending the 2017 season at the Big East Conference's Providence College.
- The eight freshmen hail from six different states (California, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia) and two countries (Germany and United States). Ann-Kathrin Wolfram will be the first player to play to the Greyhounds from Germany.
- Of those eight freshmen, Sarah Bayer, Gillian Borton, Wolfram, Kaleigh Gallagher and Ariel Tillman made their collegiate debuts against California Baptist.
