Sim Honored as CoSIDA Academic All-District Selection

BALTIMORE – CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) released its 2021 Academic All-District honorees for women's soccer on Thursday, with Loyola University Maryland junior goalkeeper Paige Sim among those chosen in District 2.

Sim becomes the ninth Greyhound in program history to be recognized by the national organization. Loyola has now had two student-athletes honored in the last two seasons, as Sarah Bayer took home All-District accolades during the Spring 2021 campaign.

The All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. District 2 includes student-athletes from Maryland, Delaware, Kentucky, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Sim holds a 3.94 grade-point average while majoring in biochemistry and minoring in business administration. She was previously recognized as one of Loyola's conference-leading three selections to the Academic All-Patriot League Team last week, earning a spot on that 11-member team for a second-straight season.

The Patriot League's Goalkeeper of the Year, Sim went 8-6-4 (5-1-3 PL) on the year while helping the Greyhounds clinch a third-straight appearance in the Patriot League tournament as the No. 3 seed. She led the conference in both goals-against average (0.96) and save percentage (.809) and recorded 5+ saves in nine of her 18 appearances.

Sim was one of just 12 standouts to earn Academic All-District accolades in District 2. She now becomes eligible for Academic All-America consideration, with winners to be announced in mid-December.
