BETHLEHEM, Pa. –
Nathan Galloway racked up another first for a Loyola University Maryland men's cross country runner today, earning recognition on the seven-person Academic All-Patriot League Team to mark the first time a men's runner at the school has received the honor.
Last month, Galloway had the best finish in school history by a Loyola men's cross country competitor at the Patriot League Championships since the Greyhounds joined the conference in 2013.
He finished 18
th at the meet, leading Loyola to its best-ever team finish as the Greyhounds took seventh place.
His ability on the course matched with his acumen in the classroom as he entered his senior year with a 3.908 grade-point average as a Honors English and Global Studies major.
Galloway was one of the Greyhounds' top two runners throughout the season, finishing second at the Towson Alumni Invitational and running as Loyola's top competitor at the Paul Short Run.
He has been a Dean's List honoree all six semesters at Loyola, and he has completed three semesters with perfect 4.0 marks. Galloway has also served as co-president of Loyola's Student-Athletes 4 Social Justice program.
Galloway and the Greyhounds will be back in action on Friday, November 12, at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
