BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League released its final weekly awards of the women's soccer regular season on Monday afternoon, with Loyola University Maryland's Paige Sim and Lois Edwards both receiving recognition from the conference office.

Sim was chosen as the Patriot League's Goalkeeper of the Week, while Edwards earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades after the duo played a key role in Loyola's 0-0 draw at Lehigh last Friday. That tie sealed a second-straight Patriot League tournament for the Greyhounds (3-1-1 PL, 2-1-1 South), who travel to Navy for a semifinal matchup on Wednesday.

This is the third time that Sim (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista) has been named Goalkeeper of the Week in her collegiate career, and it is her fourth weekly award overall. The sophomore matched a career-high with eight saves at Lehigh, including six after the intermission to help Loyola hold off a consistent offensive push from the Mountain Hawks. The clean sheet was her third of the season and eighth overall in 17 collegiate starts. Sim ranks 15th nationally in goals-against average (0.38) and she is 23rd in Division I in save percentage (.867).

Edwards (Guildford, England/The Ashcombe School) helped keep the game scoreless in the first half, recording back-to-back team saves in the fifth minute to keep Lehigh off the scoreboard early on. She blocked Lehigh's initial header from landing in the left corner of the goal, and she remained in place to turn aside a rebound attempt seconds later. This is the first career weekly award for Edwards, who has earned starts in three of her four appearances on the backline this spring.

The conference is scheduled to release its All-Patriot League awards for the season tomorrow afternoon. Loyola's semifinal matchup at Navy will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in Annapolis.
