Women’s Soccer Starts 2022-23 Loyola Athletics Schedule August 18

BALTIMORE – Women's soccer will be the first Loyola University Maryland team to play regular-season action in 2022-23 when the Greyhounds get underway with a home match on Thursday, August 18.
 
That match versus Drexel is the first of 10 Loyola will host at Ridley Athletic Complex, six of which will take place during the season's first 25 days.
 
Loyola goes on the road for its next two games, first at Virginia, a team that reached the 2021 NCAA College Cup Round of 16. After playing in Charlottesville on Sunday, August 21, Loyola heads to Houston, Texas, to play at Rice on Thursday, August 25.
 
The Greyhounds return to Ridley on Sunday, August 28, to kick off a five-game homestand with their first-ever meeting with Youngstown State.
 
Columbia comes to Baltimore on Thursday, September 1, and Kent State will play at Loyola on Sunday, September 4. Howard then makes an appearance at Ridley on Thursday, September 8, before Wake Forest visits on Sunday, September 11 to close the stretch.
 
The game against the Atlantic Coast Conference's Demon Deacons is also the Greyhounds' final non-conference tilt of the year. Patriot League competition starts for Loyola with two-straight road games.
 
First up is a Saturday, September 17, match at Colgate, before the Greyhounds head to Navy on Wednesday, September 21.
 
Army West Point will be the first Patriot League opponent to come to Ridley this season when the Black Knights visit on Saturday, September 24.
 
Loyola then goes to Lafayette on Saturday, October 1, before coming back to host Holy Cross a week later.
 
Bucknell will be the first of two midweek Patriot League games for Loyola; the Greyhounds head to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, to play the Bison on Wednesday, October 12. They then remain on the road for a Saturday, October 15 match at Lehigh.
 
Two home contests are slated to close the regular-season with Boston University appearing at Ridley on Saturday, October 22, and American on Wednesday, October 26.
 
The six-team Patriot League Championships start on Saturday, October 31, and wrap up on Sunday, November 6, with the title match.
