STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – 
Olivia Malley ran the second-fastest time in school 600-meter history on Saturday as the Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team competed for the first time in 2023 at the Nittany Lion Challenge.
 
Malley's time of 1:38.50 bettered her personal-best in the event by 31 hundredths of a second from the 2021 season. She took ninth overall in the event, the Greyhounds' highest individual finish.
 
Jamie Adams, who tied for the school record in the 60 meters at the season-opening meet last month, ran the third-best time in school history, 7.80 to finish 14
th in the event. She then ran the second-fastest 200-meter time, also behind her own school standard, to finish fifth in 24.95.
 
Meghan Leonard was 12
th in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:05.92, followed by 
Abby Potticary in 14
th (3:07.77).
 
Taylor McHugh took 13
th in the 400 meters, crossing the finish line in 61.04, rounding out the top-15 finishes for Loyola at the meet.
 
McHugh, Malley, Leonard and 
Carly Spinnler were the Greyhounds' top-finishing 4x400-meter relay team with a time of 4:07.83 to place 12
th.
 
Maeve Lowther, 
Lauren Riddle and 
Kasey Boag started the meet in the mile for Loyola, finishing 27
th (5:30.69), 28
th (5:32.18) and 33
rd (5:40.72), respectively.
 
Megan McCusker took 22
nd in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.99, while three Greyhounds were back of Adams in the 60 dash. 
Madelyn Ricard finished 34
th (8.20), 
Stephanie Tracy was 39
th (8.37) and 
Onyinyechi Kenine was 43
rd (9.01).
 
Rachel Arwood jfinished 16
th in the 600 with a time of 1:45.33, and 
Melanie Torales finished 19
th in 1:48.67. Madelyn Hyde had a 20
th-place finish in 1:53.76.
 
Following McHugh in the 400 were 
Caroline O'Connell (24
th, 64.40), 
Ainsley Jodlbauer (25
th, 65.22) and 
Lauren Gerow (26
th, 65.55).
 
Spinnler and 
Sammie Spargo took 18
th and 20
th, respectively, in the 1,000, running 3:11.27 and 3:17.22.
 
Tracy was the top finisher for Loyola in the 200 meters, running 35
th in 27.06, while 
Ava Dunn was 44
th (27.90) and McCusker took 48
th (29.38).
O'Connell, Jodlbauer, Riddle and Arwood ran 4:15.13 and were 15th in the 4x400 relay, while Gerow, Potticary, McCusker and Torales finished 19th in 4:28.16.
 
Loyola is scheduled to return to State College in two weeks for the Penn State National on January 27-28.
