STATEN ISLAND – 
Olivia Malley won the 500 meters on Saturday, leading the Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team at the Big Apple Classic at the Ocean Breeze Track Center.
 
Malley took top honors in the race with a time of 1:15.64, while 
Ajia Morrison came across the line in fifth in 1:20.47. 
Melanie Torales and 
Lauren Gerow also had top-10 finishes in the event as the former ran 1:25.61 to finish ninth, and the latter raced to 10
th in 1:26.16.
 
Sammie Spargo placed seventh in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:04.70, and 
Marissa Branham Rodriguez took 14
th in the event in 11:20.79.
 
Meghan Leonard led three Greyhounds in the 800 meters, running 2:18.68 to finish eighth. 
Abby Potticary was 19
th in 2:23.06, and 
Rachel Arwood finished 20
th in 2:23.90.
 
Taylor McHugh ran 60.48 for 20
th in the 400 meters, while 
Ava Dunn (35
th, 27.53) and Morrison (37
th, 27.90) raced in the 200 meters.
 
Loyola continues its preparation for the Patriot League Championships later this month by running at the Navy Invitational on Friday, February 17, in Annapolis, Maryland.
