PHILADELPHIA – The Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team set two school records on Friday night, bettering standards in the 200 meters and 4x100-meter relay at the Temple Invitational.
Jamie Adams was a part of both record-setting performances, taking down her second individual record in as many weeks.
This week, she ran 25.04 into a -1.9 meter-per-second headwind in the 200 meters, breaking the 2019 record of 25.27 seconds by Courtney Kenny. Last week, she set the 100-meter record with a time of 11.99 seconds at the Colonial Relays.
She was also a part of the 4x100-meter relay team that finished in 48.09 seconds on Friday night, notching an ECAC qualifying time in the process.
Lauryn Clarke, Adams,
Taylor McHugh and
Madelyn Ricard broke the previous record of 48.32 set in 2021 by Kenny, Rachel Koller, McHugh and
Stephanie Tracy.
Olivia Malley had the best individual place-finish for the Greyhounds, taking second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.29, while
Melanie Torales was 13
th in 2:34.54.
Abby Potticary led seven Greyhounds in the 1,500 meters, running fourth in 4:43.74. She was followed by
Meghan Leonard (10
th, 4:52.91),
Lauren Riddle (12
th, 4:55.17),
Isabella Coleman (14
th, 4:56.78),
Kylie Maddalena (19
th, 5:10.55),
Sammie Spargo (20
th, 5:12.44) and

Carly Spinnler took eighth in the 400 meters in 60.54, while
Caroline O'Connell was 12
th in 63.77, and
Lauren Gerow took 16
th in 67.35.
McHugh had a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a finish of 69.01.
Norah Affanato claimed eighth in the 3,000 meters in 11:10.97, just in front of
Amaya Cunningham in 10
th at 11:23.66.
Lily Angluin took 11
th in 11:26.50, and
Maddie Hyde was 13
th in 11:59.62.
Clarke had a 9
th- and 13
th-place individually for Loyola, in a pair of races, the former coming with a time of 12.85 seconds in the 100 meters and the latter in 26.44 in the 200.
Jessica Boos was 18
th in the 100 meters in 13.48, while Ricard was 19
th (13.54) and
Ava Dunn took 20
th (13.63). Boos finished 20
th in the 200 meters (27.56), and
Ajia Morrison was 21
st in 27.60. Dunn finished 23
rd in that event in 28.46, and Gerow was 25
th at 29.90.
Two Loyola 4x400-meter relay teams finished fourth and seventh, respectively, on Friday night. Morrison, Adams, Leonard and Spinnler ran 4:05.02, while Coleman, Potticary, Dunn and Torales finished in 4:24.58.
