UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. –
Lauryn Clarke ran the second-fastest 60-meter time in school indoor history on Saturday afternoon, finishing sixth in the final of the event at the Nittany Lion Challenge.
She clocked a time of 7.72 seconds to finish second in her heat earlier in the day, qualifying on time for the final. The sophomore came back to run 7.65 seconds in the final.
Her finals time is tied for second-best in school history, just one-hundredth of a second off what she ran to set the program record in December.
The sprinters continued to put down fast times for Loyola as
Jamie Adams ran 25.36 in the 200 meters, the seventh-fastest time in school history. She now owns eight of the 10 fastest 200 times indoors at Loyola.
Nelly Cruz ran 9.38 seconds and was 17
th in the 60-meter hurdles, while
Meghan Leonard,
Kat Zysk and
Kaitlyn Casas were 26
th (1:42.72), 32
nd (1:49.89) and 33
rd (1:53.29) in the 600 meters.
Adams ran 8.12 and was 35
th in the 60, while
Madelyn Ricard (8.21) and
Elizabeth Gallagher (8.62) took 38
