Bethlehem -- The Patriot League announced their weekly Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon, as
Baylee DeSmit was named the Offensvie Player of the Week, while
Zoe Willis was named Defensive Player of the Week.
This is the third time DeSmit has been named Offensive Player of the Week this season, while this is Willis' first Defensive Player of the Week award.
DeSmit had another strong performance for the Greyhounds, as she scored a pair of goals in the Greyhounds 3-0 win over Army. She drew the foul in the box that led to her penalty kick goal, before she scored the closing goal, as she ran in behind the defense and shot around the goalkeeper for the goal. DeSmit is tied for the Patriot League lead in goals (11) this season.
Willis played all 90 minutes in the shutout win for Loyola. She played a crucial roll in limiting Army to their second lowest shot total on the season. Coming into the game, Army was second in the conference in goals for, as the Greyhounds shut them out in the win.
Loyola will travel to Bucknell on Wednesday as they continue Patriot League play.
