BOSTON –
Jamie Adams and
Lauryn Clarke both finished fourth in two sprint events on Sunday, the best finishes for Loyola University Maryland sprinters ever at the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Adams took fourth in the 200 meters, and Clarke earned that place in the 60 meters.
As a team, the Greyhounds finished eighth with 13 points.
Clarke opened the day for the Greyhounds in the 60, running 7.65 seconds, a hundredth of a tick off her time in Saturday's preliminary round. She held off Navy's Jia Anderson for fourth by three-hundredths of a second.
Adams and Clarke then ran later in the 200 with Adams edging her classmate in the first heat of the race.
She ran 24.64 seconds to tie for the fourth-best mark in school indoor history; she now holds the five fastest 200-meter times indoors at the school.
Clarke was close behind, taking seventh overall with a time of 24.85 seconds, good for seventh in school history.
Clarke and Adams ran on the Greyhounds 4x400-meter relay team, along with
Julia Baguiao and
Caroline O'Connell, which took eighth in 3:56.69.
Kasey Boag crossed the line in 10:45.65 to take 25
th in the 3,000 meters.
