Mead Earns Second ECAC Swimmer of the Meet Honor; Men 2nd, Women 4th At Meet

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Lily Mead was named the ECAC Championships Female Swimmer of the Meet for the second year in a row on Sunday evening as the Loyola University Maryland men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed their season at the event.
 
Mead won a second event at the Championships, taking first in the 200 breaststroke after winning the 50 freestyle on Friday. She also was third in the 100 breaststroke and was a member of the winning 200 freestyle relay team.
 
Overall, the Loyola men's team finished second at the ECAC meet, and the women were fourth.
 
Mead scored her win in the 200 breaststroke in 2:12.15, more than three seconds ahead of Navy's Maddie Koutavas who finished in 2:15.30. Hannah Oslislo was 11th in the event in 2:24.24.
 
Matthew Hughes had the men's team's top finish on Sunday, taking fourth in the 1,650 freestyle, a race in which the Greyhounds had five scorers in the top 10.
 
Hughes went 15:36.42 in the race, while Jonah Goodman was fifth (15:42.96), Pierre Leroy seventh (15:59.60), Matthew Gray ninth (16:02.70) and Peter Weinstein 10th (16:05.69).
 
Adriana Caponiti took seventh in the women's 1,650 freestyle in 17:33.24, and Caro Suarez was 11th in 18:16.36.
 
Liam Schindler finished fifth in the 100 freestyle for the Loyola men in 44.73, and Tyler Knurek finished eighth in 45.13. Gabby Jones tied for 10th in the women's race with a time of 52.05.
 
Josh Stegner touched the wall in 1:51.23 for a sixth-place finish in the 200 backstroke. Two other Greyhounds scored in the race with Tie Manuel coming in 11th (1:50.18) and Sam Voss going 1:50.80 for 13th.
 
Maeve Brandenburg was 12th in the women's 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.45, and Samantha Yerkes took 14th in 2:06.80. Kiera McGrath finished 16th in 2:09.46.
 
Elias Corn had an eighth-place finish in 2:01.90 in the men's 200 breaststroke, and Floyd Conlin took 16th in 2:04.97.
 
Brayden Bowen, Caponiti and Yerkes were 13th, 14th and 16th, respectively, in the 200 butterfly, swimming 2:07.39, 2:09.76 and 2:11.03.
 
Jones, Maddie Testa, Remmi Shaw and Emily Colyar were fourth in the women's 400 freestyle relay to close the night, swimming 3:29.80. Schindler, Joey Zellner, Dylan Covington and Riley Coyle went 3:01.37 for fifth in the men's race.
