BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland sophomore Kiera Udell was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team for Women's Indoor Track & Field on Tuesday, honoring her work in the classroom and on the track.
 
Udell ran a pair of times that ranked in the top 10 in Loyola's indoor program history this year.
 
She turned in a performance of 10:18.14 in the 3,000 meters last month at the Showdown at The Heights in Boston, and two weeks later, a time that ranks eighth in school history.
 
Less than two weeks later, Udell ran 5:04.08 in the mile at the Navy Select, tenth-best all-time in that event at Loyola. Last weekend, she was 17^th in the mile at the Patriot League Championships and she helped the Greyhounds distance medley relay team finish sixth.
 
Udell, a data science major, is a Dean's List student who is a Hyman Science Scholar at Loyola, a program based on building a community for academically talented students majoring in computer science, mathematics, statistics, data science, or physics.
