Cruz, Boag Race Top-10 Times In Program History At JMU Invitational

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Nelly Cruz and Kasey Boag ran times that rank in the top-10 all-time at Loyola University Maryland on Saturday when the track and field team competed at the JMU Invitational.
 
Cruz ran a wind-legal 14.95 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, her second fastest time as a collegian and the sixth-best by a Greyhounds hurdler in school history.
 
Boag ran a personal-best time of 10:32.95 in the 3,000 meters to finish eighth in the race with the No. 10 time ever at Loyola.
 
She was one of four Greyhounds in the 3,000 with Mckenzie Newman taking 16th in 10:42.88, Norah Affanato finishing 17th in 10:46.69 and Kylie Maddalena running 11:08.64 for 21st. Cruz was one of two in the hurdles race with Maggie Yost finishing 22nd in 18.28.
 
Kiera Udell had the top individual finish for the Loyola women at the meet, taking sixth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:45.53. Maeve Lowther was 15th in 4:48.12, and Kayla Hayes took 32nd in 4:59.22. Talia Banafato was 36th in 5:06.78 and Kat Zysk ran 5:12.70 for 37th.
 
Claire Dalsass ran 2:20.59 for 13th in the 800 meters, and Udell was three spots back in 16th in 2:21.33. Meghan Leonard finished a spot behind Udell in 17th with a time of 2:22.04, and Maddie Hyde was 32nd in 2:30.24.
 
Jane Mazzeo took 15th in the 100 meters in a wind-aided time of 12.23 seconds, while Elizabeth Gallagher was 35th and Madelyn Ricard finished 36th in 12.96 and 12.97 seconds, respectively.
 
Lauren Gerow ran 1:09.31 in the 400-meter hurdles for 14th, and Maggie Yost finished 16th in 1:13.57.
 
Mia Maselli was 27th in the 400 meters in 1:02.53, and Chelsea Ayitey-Adjin ran 1:05.26 for 31st. Ajia Morrison finished 32nd in 1:05.82.
 
Mazzeo finished 26th in the 200 meters in 25.73 seconds, and Maselli took 32nd in 26.14. Crus finished 34th (26.24), Julia Baguiao was 42nd (26.55), Nicolette Militi took 45th (26.72), Gallagher finished 49th (27.19), Gerow took 55th (28.52) and Ayitey-Adjin finished 56th (28.60).
 
Ricard, Mazzeo, Lauryn Clarke and Maddie Van Haren finished 10th in the 4x100-meter relay in 55.44, and Leonard, Dalsass, Van Haren and Maselli took seventh in the 4x400 in 4:20.41.
 
Four men's cross country runners ran in the 3,000 meters at the invitational. Mikey Byrnes and Christian Zawislack had top-10 finishes in sixth (9:00.47) and eighth (9:03.49), respectively, while Ailin Oberlies was 12th (9:11.71) and Dennis McNamara 13th (9:24.15).
