Robinson Wins 50 Free On Day Two Of Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Haley Robinson became the third Loyola University Maryland woman to win a Patriot League individual swimming and diving title, striking gold in the 50 freestyle on Thursday night.
 
After two days of the Championships, the Loyola men are third and the women fifth in their respective team standings.
 
Robinson had the fastest swim of the morning's preliminaries, clocking 22.63 seconds, and she held her seed in the final, going 22.56 for the win.
 
She joins Devin Cronin and Lily Mead as the Loyola women to claim Patriot League titles. Her time is the second-fastest in school history in the event behind Mead's 22.54.
 
Robinson led five Loyola women who scored in the event. Christine Datovech was third in 22.97 seconds, Gianna Davis took ninth (23.50), Natalie Lomonsov finished 12th (23.66) and Meghan Donovan claimed 24th (24.09).
 
Loyola's men's 400 medley relay was third in 3:06.51. Joe Hayburn led off with a swim of 44.81, an NCAA qualifying standard in the 100 backstroke that ranks 12th in NCAA Division I as of Thursday night. Brennan Coyle, Luke Dwyer and Derek Feldman joined him for the bronze.
 
Michael Venit had the best individual finish of the day for the Loyola men, coming in sixth in the 200 individual medley, touching the wall in 1:48.25. Luke Dwyer was ninth in 1:48.17, and Kaden Fatta took 13th (1:49.76). Floyd Conlin finished 15th (1:50.08), and Owen Glaser was 19th in 1:50.32.
 
Riley Fried had a 12th-place swim of 2:04.33 in the women's 200 individual medley.
 
Kiernan Leary finished 12th in the men's 500 freestyle with a time of 4:27.46, while Gavin Abelende was 19th (4:27.78). Michela Schultz and Ellie Davis scored in the women's 500 freestyle, taking 17th (4:57.13) and 22nd (5:02.09), respectively.
 
Coyle topped five Greyhounds who scored in the men's 50 freestyle, finishing ninth in 19.83 seconds. Feldman was 12th (20.01), Liam Schindler 14th (20.41), Hans van Lierop 18th (20.56) and Colin Davis 19th (20.57).
 
Cali Fasser finished 11th in women's 1-meter diving by scoring 241.30 points, and Annie Dockx scored 228.80 for 13th.
 
The women's 400 medley relay of Maeve Brandenburg, Meghan Donovan, Datovech and Robinson was sixth, swimming 3:42.79.
