PRINCETON, N.J. - Kate Crevo led the Loyola women's cross country team with a sixth place finish on Saturday, as the Greyhound women placed eighth at the Princeton Invitational.

The Loyola men finished ninth as a team on the 8,000-meter course.

Running without the team's top finisher from its last race - Courtney McNamara - Cervo ran a very strong race for the women.

She clocked a time of 22:28.70 on the 6,000-meter course, just three seconds out of fourth place.

"Kate was amazing to watch today," Head Coach Rick Woods said. "She went out strong and stayed tough through the entire race. She is hitting her stride right in time for the championship meets. The team is really pumped for the next few weeks."

Maureen Wynne took 31st with a time of 23:17.80, while Emily Doucette was 50th in 23:45.60. Amanda Bossi placed 66th in 24:05.70, and Stephanie Gibney rounded out Loyola's scoring with a 70th-place finish in 24:10.60.

Chris Heibell, Gian Caccia and Dan McDevitt ran a strong team race for the Greyhound men, all finishing within seven seconds of each other.

Heibell was the team's top finisher, placing 32nd in 25:02.30, while Caccia was 36th with a time of 25:07.00. McDevitt was steps behind in 38th, finishing in 25:09.60.

Steve Febish and Keith Forlenza also paced each other, rounding out Loyola's scoring by finishing 97th and 98th, respectively. Febish ran a time of 26:06.00, while Forlenza finished in 26:06.30.

The Greyhounds compete in two weeks at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships, Saturday, November 1, in Orlando, Fla.
