Game Data

• Loyola returns to Ridley Athletic Complex for its final regular-season home games of 2010 this weekend. The Greyhounds host Fairfield on Friday night and Iona Sunday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.
• Fairfield and Loyola will take the field on Friday at 7 p.m., and the Greyhounds host the Gaels in a Sunday matinee at 1 p.m. Sunday's game will also be Senior Day when Loyola will honor Kelly Farrell, and Jessie Knight, Lina Staropoli and Kelly Thomas prior to the game.

Family Fun Day!

• The Greyhounds are hosting their annual Family Fun Day on Friday when they take on Fairfield at 7 p.m. There will be games, prizes and other exciting stuff for kids, ages 5-17, at Ridley Athletic Complex.
• Kids 17 and under can register to win an iPod Nano at the game, and any youth soccer player who registers for the Greyhound Soccer Academy at the game will receive a discount to next summer's camp.

Series History

• Fairfield and Loyola will meet for the 30th time when they play on Friday evening. The Greyhounds are 14-8-7 all-time against the Stags, and the 29 previous meetings are the most Loyola has ever faced another MAAC team.
• Iona comes to Ridley Athletic Complex for the first time Sunday, but it will be the 22nd all-time meeting between the programs. Loyola holds an 18-1-2 record against the Gaels going into Sunday's contest.

Last Time Out

• Marist's Jaclynn Sabia scored in the 59th minute off a Samantha Panzner assist to lift the Red Foxes to a 1-0 victory last Sunday over Loyola. Didi Haracic had three saves in goal for the Greyhounds.
• Loyola took a 2-0 lead in the 22nd minute of action last Friday against Siena after Gianna Mangione scored in the game's first 10 minutes, and Nichole Schiro added a goal in the 22nd, but Siena scored three unanswered goals to pull out a 3-2 win. Ashleigh Barone scored twice in the second half, the tying goal in the 55th minute and the winner in the 85th.

Overtime Adventures

• Loyola snapped its string of seven-straight overtime games on October 3 when the Greyhounds and Niagara settled things in regulation. Loyola had played 69 minutes, 33 seconds of overtime dating back to September 10.
• The stretch of seven games was the longest in school history.

Moving On Up

• Nichole Schiro's goal in last Friday's first half against Siena was her career-high 10th of the season and 19th of her two-year career at Loyola. It also moved her into a tie for eighth all-time at Loyola with 19 career goals. She needs three more to tie Krystin Porcella (1994-1997) for seventh all-time.
• Schiro leads the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in goals (10), goals per game (0.67), game-winning goals (4) and is tied for the conference lead in points (21). Nationally, Schiro's 10 goals are tied for 17th in NCAA Division I, and she is tied for 33rd in goals per game.
• Schiro's goal total in less than two full seasons at Loyola is the second-best two-year scoring performance in school history. Career goals and points leader Ali Andrzejewski scored 33 goals in two years, 2004 and 2005, with the program.

Farrell Climbing The Charts

• Kelly Farrell has contributed assists in three of Loyola's four MAAC games this seasonm and she is tied for the MAAC lead with six helpers this season.
• The six assists bring Farrell's career total to 14, tying her with teammate Kelly Thomas and Naomi Daniels (2002-2005) for 11th all-time at Loyola.

Moving On Up, Part II

• Schiro isn't the only one on the Greyhounds climbing the career charts at Loyola this season. Lina Staropoli's assist against Niagara on October 3 was the 18th during her four years at Loyola, tying her for third all-time at the school with Annie DiPalo (1999-2002).
• Staropoli's next assist will tie her with Jamie DeSoto (1995-1998) for second all-time at Loyola.

Haracic Steps In

• Freshman goalkeeper Didi Haracic stepped back into a starting role last Sunday at Marist after Danielle Ippolito went down with a brief injury. Haracic made three saves and allowed just one Red Foxes' goal, improving her goals against average to 1.55 in MAAC action.
• Haracic was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week on Monday, October 3, after combining with Ippolito to shutout Niagara, 1-0, the previous day.

In The Coaches Box

• Katherine Remy Vettori starts her third season as the head coach of the Greyhounds, bringing a 30-19-9 career record to the sidelines at the start of the season.
• Vettori, who led Loyola to the MAAC regular-season and tournament titles last year, was named Anaconda Sports MAAC Coach of the Year in 2009.
• Vettori is assisted by third-year assistant coaches Erin Konheim, Amanda Piccirilli and Dave Nesbitt.
