WORCESTER, Mass. – The Loyola University Maryland women's track and field 4x800-meter relay team finished second in a school-record time, and
Rachel Koller broke a nine-year old 100-meter record on Friday as the Greyhounds competed at the first day of the 2019 Patriot League Championships.

The relay team covered the 3,200 meters in 8:49.50, an ECAC Championships qualifying time that was more than 14 seconds off the previous record of 9:04.00.
Kayleigh Caggiano ran the leadoff leg, while
MaryEllen Woods and
Grayce Heinemann ran the middle four laps.
Senna Ohlsson then anchored the relay as the U.S. Military Academy just held off the Greyhounds by less than two seconds.

Koller ran 12.52 into a headwind in the 100 meters, breaking the record of 12.61 by Whitney Gibbs in April 2010. Koller's time was 12
th in the event, while
Ariana Santo Pietro was 16
th in 12.81 seconds.

Courtney Kenny took 13
th in the 200 meters, running the third-best time in school history, 25.51.
Kathleen Shepherd and
Gillian Blackwood finished back-to-back, 17
th and 18
th, in the 100-meter hurdles with fourth- and fifth-best times in school history, respectively, 15.35 and 15.42.

Christina Daniels and
Mary Sutton were ninth and 11
th in the 10,000 meters, finishing in 37:59.30 and 38:25.83.

The Greyhounds start their final day at the Championships on Saturday, May 4, when events kick off at 12 noon.
